Volunteer Opportunities at the 2017 Cleveland Pet Expo

One Health Organization > Volunteer Opportunities at the 2017 Cleveland Pet Expo

Below are details about the dates, times, and what you can expect as a Volunteer for One Health Organization at the 2017 Cleveland Pet Expo. Volunteers will need to attend an Orientation session prior to volunteering.

Friday 10/13/2017

If you’d prefer to stay “behind the scenes,” there are one or two people needed for this activity before the Cleveland Pet Expo event starts. If you want to get some exercise with walking, lifting, bending, squatting, and reaching, this opportunity is for you. If the exercise part is something that you’d rather avoid, and you have a car with plenty of cargo space, you can pick up supplies from One Health Organization headquarters and drive them to the exhibit booth location. The booth items need to be picked up at One Health Organization headquarters and supplies dropped off at the booth between 11 am to 7 pm. More details will be made available to the selected Volunteers by One Health Organization.

Saturday 10/14/2017

Do you like to talk to people and raise awareness about a cause you care about? Then become a One Health Ambassador. Sit by the booth starting as early as 10 am and stay as late as 5 pm. You may be there the entire time period or any time you can give in between. We prefer that Volunteers select at least one of the two hour slots, show up at least 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled time to allow for parking and finding the booth, and that those who volunteer until 5 pm can help ensure the booth is neat and that nothing of value is left behind. More details will be made available to the selected Volunteers by One Health Organization. There will be lots of dogs present and maybe some other types of animals. If you’re allergic to some kinds of animals, this may not be the ideal opportunity for you unless you know how to manage your symptoms well.

Sunday 10/15/2017

Opportunity #1: Do you like to talk to people and raise awareness about a cause you care about? Then become a One Health Ambassador. Sit by the booth starting as early as 11 am and stay as late as 4 pm. You may be there the entire time period or any time you can give in between. We prefer that Volunteers select at least one of the two hour slots, show up at least 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled time to allow for parking and finding the booth, and that those who volunteer until 4 pm can help pack up the booth to go back to One Health Organization headquarters. More details will be made available to the selected Volunteers by One Health Organization. There will be lots of dogs present and maybe some other types of animals. If you’re allergic to some kinds of animals, this may not be the ideal opportunity for you unless you know how to manage your symptoms well.

Opportunity #2: If you’d prefer to stay “behind the scenes,” there are one or two people needed for this activity after the Cleveland Pet Expo event ends. If you want to get some exercise with walking, lifting, bending, squatting, and reaching, this opportunity is for you. If the exercise part is something that you’d rather avoid, and you have a car with plenty of cargo space, you can pick up the remaining supplies from the exhibit booth location as early as 4 pm and drive them to One Health Organization headquarters (ideally on Monday 10/16/2017 to drop off as early as 8:30 am). More details will be made available to the selected Volunteers by One Health Organization. Fewer dogs and other kinds of animals may still be present at this time. Those with allergies to dogs and other kinds of animals may not find this opportunity ideal unless you know how to manage your symptoms well.
