In the heart of every pet lover lies a commitment to ensuring the well-being of our furry friends. Yet, for many, providing essential veterinary care can be financially daunting. In a world where the bond between humans and animals grows stronger by the day, organizations like One Health Organization (OHO) and the Citizens Committee for Lakewood's Animals & Shelter (CCLAS) are stepping up to bridge the gap between financial constraints and compassionate care.
At the core of their mission lies a shared belief: when pets are healthy, homes are happier. OHO's pioneering programs offer a lifeline to struggling pet parents, ensuring that financial barriers don't stand in the way of essential veterinary visits. Through the Voucher Card system, they empower families to prioritize their pet's health without compromising their own financial stability.

But the impact of their work extends beyond monetary aid. OHO serves as a catalyst for community engagement, connecting pet parents with a network of resources aimed at fostering holistic pet care. By partnering with Northeast Ohio veterinarians and like-minded organizations, they cultivate a support system that extends far beyond financial assistance.

Enter the Citizens Committee for Lakewood's Animals and Shelter, known as CCLAS. Dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of homeless animals in the Lakewood community, CCLAS stands as a beacon of hope for abandoned cats and dogs alike. Their commitment to the cause is evident in their multifaceted approach, which encompasses everything from care and adoption to advocacy and education. Their dedication shines through in events like the free monthly clinics hosted at the VIP Petcare Wellness Center, where pet owners can access vital services at no cost.

Recently, CCLAS took their mission a step further by offering gift cards for spay/neuter services at Petfix and OHO Veterinary Care Voucher Cards at their free clinics held on April 28th and May 18th at Lakewood Pet Supplies Plus.

VIP Pet Care served 15 pets with vaccinations and wellness exams; 11 pets received spay/neuter gift cards; and 7 households received Veterinary Care Voucher Cards. By pooling their resources and expertise, these organizations were able to provide much-needed support to pet parents facing financial hardship.

Looking ahead, the partnership between OHO and CCLAS serves as a shining example of what can be achieved when like-minded organizations come together for a common cause. As they continue to host free clinics and expand their outreach efforts, they remind us that true progress is built on the foundation of collaboration and compassion.
